We’ll arrange to visit you at home beforehand, to meet you and your dog and talk about their walking programme, so that our service can be tailored to their needs. Most importantly, as your dog walker, we want to ensure that your dog enjoys their time with us. At Woof This Way we believe it’s important for your dog to be mentally fulfilled as well as physically. Dogs are intelligent, social creatures and boredom can often lead to unhappy, mischievous pets. At Woof This Way, we also offer a puppy training and dog training service, in case you need a helping hand with getting your pet on the right track. Prices Dog walking prices start from £12 for 1 hour (price includes pick up and drop off). We offer a dog sitting service so that your dog can stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own surroundings. The dog sitter comes to them. We can call in to your house, feed your dog, let them out, and make sure they’ve got enough water, enjoy a game and throw in a tummy tickle too! We also offer a dog walking service if you feel that your dog needs a little bit more and would benefit from getting out and about. We will arrange a visit at your home beforehand to meet your and your dog and discuss their routine and requirements, so that they receive the best pet care possible. Woof This Way appreciates that whilst dog sitting at your house, there may also be other small animals or cats that need some attention too. We are happy to discuss the pet care of all other ‘non-woofing’ animals in your home, and can even extend the service to the care of your home itself, so that it looks occupied whilst you are out or away. Prices Dog sitting prices start from £10 for a ½ hour visit. Whilst we charge for ½ hourly visits, Woof This Way offers a flexible service and we are happy to discuss other arrangements to suit your needs. Not every dog is perfect, and in many cases that’s what we love about them! But when they don’t understand or can’t do what we want them to do, it can sometimes be frustrating and places a strain on the relationship. Dogs are a different species after all and don’t communicate in the same way that we do. Training a dog can achieve a reliable response from them to simple commands such as sit, stay and leave and can be useful in everyday situations. Training will also help improve the important relationship you already have with your dog. Dogs learn by the consequence of their behaviour – if it’s beneficial and they get something worthwhile from it, they are more likely to perform that behaviour again. At Woof This Way we work with you, the owner, during our sessions to help you understand how your dog learns, what motivates them and what they need from you so that you can communicate with them effectively. Through informal and enjoyable practical demonstrations with our dog trainer, and with written guidelines and advice for you to fall back on, we can help you to work together with your dog to achieve the results you want. Woof This Way only uses positive reward based techniques in our dog training that promote an effective and kind method of learning that ultimately strengthens the relationship between dog and owner. Puppies go through a sensitive period of development from 3 to 12 weeks old. During this time, we can actively help them to adjust and cope in our world by introducing them gently to everyday objects, sights, sounds, smells and situations. Training a puppy properly helps them develop their personality, and provides them with the best chance to become a well-adjusted dog. To help your dog with a grounded start in life, Woof This Way offers: Pre-vaccination consultations Socialising your pup and getting them accustomed to the world can be quite a task when you can’t take them out and about. Woof This Way can give you advice and programs on what you can do both in and away from your own home and how to go about it correctly, so that your new puppy is given every opportunity it needs to prepare for the big wide world. One-to-one training and behaviour advice Training a puppy can be fun but also tricky, especially when puppies are naturally naughty. Woof This Way can visit your home to discuss important matters such as toilet training, how to stop your puppy chewing, play biting and jumping up. We can also show you how to build up your new puppy’s time alone so that they are content when you leave the house. So that training your puppy is rewarding and enjoyable for both of you, we can work with you to help you understand how your new puppy learns, what motivates them and what they need from you. Putting some basic puppy training in place at an early stage, such as sit, stay and leave, will strengthen your relationship and help you communicate effectively with your pet. It’s important that your new puppy is continually exposed to a variety of people, animals, sights, sounds and environments, to maintain good social skills and reduce the fear of the unfamiliar.
